PhotoImpact Presets

Thank you for trying these out. Please let me know how they work and if you find them useful! I haven't seen these anywhere, but I think they're just as handy as Blade Pro presets, if you use PhotoImpact 4. I would love to get some feedback on this idea, so all comments will be greatly appreciated. I have lots more materials waiting to get on this page, so please come back soon. These were just a sampling to see if they worked for other PI users (they do!) Thanks!

After you apply this material to a path shape, click the options button and on the 'Color/Texture' tab click 'options' and select 'fit the texture.' This glizty rose is a good example of using an image file for it's own bump map. Try taking the bump map off and see the difference.

The last three use the bitmap or jpg that are in the zip file for either bump or reflection. Put these in the 'Material' folder in PI. Put the SMP file in the 'Ulead.dat' folder. When you open PI, the 'kris1' gallery should show up under 'Galleries' on the Easy Palette. If it doesn't, click on 'Gallery manager,' 'Import' and select 'kris1.SMP'. Then "apply away" and PLEASE let me know how it works. This text is in the zip file - in case your memory is anything like mine.

Download the zip file

kris1.zip 235kb

After you unzip the file, this is where the files need to go:

kris1.SMP Ulead PhotoImpact\Ulead.dat
khrose.jpg Ulead PhotoImpact\Material
khtex1.bmp Ulead PhotoImpact\Material

PI Object Clones/Stamps

I plan to expand this section one of these days and include PI links, but for now here are a few great places to go when you have PI questions.

p.s. If you don't have PhotoImpact, go get it!
