I fish, therefore I am

Yes, I love to fish. Work is for people who don't know how to fish. I'd rather be fishing. I could go on, but you get the idea! I caught a nice bass this summer . . . .

It was a dark and stormy night . . . . really! I got home from work about 7:30 and headed for Lily Lake. The wind was blowing and it was sprinkling on and off. There was only one other diehard fishing on the pier, everyone with any sense had already gone home. After about an hour with no success and feeling like a fool for standing out in that weather, something grabbed my leech and took off. Somehow I managed to get the fish in on a size 6 hook on my very old but trusty ultralight Fenwick rod and Shimano reel. I think it was a miracle, because that bass really wanted to go under the pier! It was 23 -1/2 inches and weighed 6lb. 12oz. That's not bad for a Wisconsin bass!

Well, here we are. Good picture of the fish - not so good of me - but what are you going to do?

This is the Shimano Stradic that I hope to be fishing with next summer. It's still at the store right now, but hopefully it will come home with me before spring! I love Shimano reels - they are absolutely the smoothest things going. Even my really old one is smoother than most new reels. You can click on the Stradic to visit it's home page.
